AB field trip

Today we got to celebrate our AB honor roll kiddos and their accomplishments over the second nine weeks with a field trip to Olive Garden.  Students received a tour of the kitchen and restaurant, and dined on breadsticks and pasta.  We had so much fun!  When we returned to school, the students watched a movie and made Mardi Gras masks.  It was a fun day!

Awards Day

Congratulations to all of our award winners for their achievements during the second nine weeks!  We are so proud of you all!

Stone Soup

Last week students read The Real Story of Stone Soup and Stone Soup in their study of folktales with Ms. Robinson.  In keeping with the spirit of the stories' themes of community and sharing, students brought in ingredients to their homerooms to make our own versions of Stone Soup.

I think it was safe to say it was enjoyed by all!

A Touch of Magic

Friday, students who maintained an 85% or greater in conduct during the second nine weeks were rewarded with A Touch of Magic Science show.  The students had a great time.  We saw some really cool stuff and learned about science as well.

Ms. Hadden got called up on stage to help demonstrate magnets.

Spelling Bee

Today was the PCES spelling bee.  We're so proud of our third grade representatives!

Doughnuts!

Congratulations to all those students who not only reached their AR goal, but also maintained an 80% (or higher) test average!  These students were rewarded with a doughnut and juice party.

New AR goals for the third nine weeks have been set, and we're looking forward to having more students join in on the fun at the end of the third nine weeks.

Hour of Code

The week of December 7-13, 2015, was Computer Science week.  Our students, along with others all over the world, participated in the Hour of Code.  Our goal was to introduce computer science to our students, spark an interest, and show them the basics of code.  Everyone was so engaged and had such a great time, that we continued coding the next week during computer lab!
